C Coy 28th Battalion, London Regiment

Killed in action on 30th October 1917 at Paschendeale aged 21 years

John William Blakey

Son of Thomas and Emma Blakey of Thimbleby

Born Hammeringham, resident Thimbleby, Lincs

Private 2083, 6th Battalion. Lincolnshire Regiment

Killed in action 27th November 1916, aged 37


Henry Lammiman

Son of the late John Lammiman, by his wife Jane, daughter of John Brader.

Born Stainsby 9th September 1887

Educated Ashby Puorum and Thimbleby


Domestic Gardener

Enlisted Grimsby 11th January 1915, resident at Thimbleby

L/Corporal 1254. 10th Battalion, Lincolnshire Regiment

Killed in action  on 9th October 1917 near Langemarck and buried there.

Commemorated at Cement House Cemetary V.D.S

John Lancaster

Born in Lincoln

Farm Labourer and Waggoner

Resident at Thimbleby. Lived in a two-roomed cottage with his parents and niece (farm labourers and domestic servants).


Enlisted Horncastle

Private 63050. 2nd battalion, Sherwood Forresters (Notts and Derby Regiment).

Killed in action 1st July 1917, aged 41 years
